method acting

In method acting the actor tries to feel the feelings and 'get inside' the character in the drama. This might involve thnking of similar things that happened in ones own life or immesrsng oneself in the character. Oter actors instead study the character in detail, but smply try to produce the behaviour the character would have from mannerisms to facial expressions. This latter kind of human emulation is more tractable for AI, it would need to understand human emotion, but not feel them itself..
